Conflict Interest

Conflict of interest exists when the author’s editor or reviewer has a personal and financial relationship that has an inappropriate impact on his/her actions. There are other reasons for conflicts such as academic competition, and personal relationships. Studies receive financial support from some firms and foundations as well as governments which may have the potential to bias and discredit the research. It is required when authors submit an article they must disclose all funding and financial support and any relationship that might create biases. Authors must clearly state whether a potential conflict exists or not. The editorial committee of HSJ may choose not to consider the manuscript for publication if any conflict is found.
